Cross country has strong showing at NCAA Mideast RegionalPublished by
The Salisbury University men s and women s cross country teams competed in the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships on Saturday morning at DeSales University.
The men s team finished 7th out of 52 teams improving four spots from their 2015 regional finals performance in which they finished 11th.
Malcolm Milton led the men s team with a 35th place finish posting a time of 25:58 and an average mile time of 5:14.
Branson Oduor finished just seconds after Milton posting a time of 26:04 to finish 39th overall.
Senior Connor Hesselbirg rounded out the top three finishers placing 57th overall finishing in a time of 26:30.
On the women s side Alison Schwartz continued her successful postseason performance. Schwartz was the lone Sea Gull to finish in the top 50 placing 49th overall and finishing in a time of 23:22.
Abby Potter was the only other Salisbury runner to finish in the top 100 on the women s side. Potter completed the 8k race in a time of 24:16 to place 97th overall.
The women s team as a whole finished 17th overall which is four spots higher than their 2015 finish of 21st at the Mideast Regional Championships.
